“Railways will move 100 percent electrification in the next 3.5 years and 100 percent net zero operators in the next 9-10 years. By 2030, each of us will be a proud citizen who will have the world’s first major clean railway,” Goyal said at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) event.

“The Prime Minister has promoted – One Sun, One World, One Grid. India is playing a major role in the international pioneer community. The transition to the international solar grid is something we are all working on. With PM-KUSUM Yojana we are bringing farmers too in renewable energy fold,” he added.

He said that the Prime Minister has said that India has become a model for the world when the transition to renewable energy is mentioned. Today, electricity is available to all interested citizens at affordable prices.

“We have invested deeply in the transmission sector for the wide availability of the sector. I hope the states will help us provide 24×7 power at a cheaper price,” Goyal said.

“Renewable energy is the way forward. Dependency on fossil fuel is not viable. Along with environmental benefits, renewable energy is good for the nation economically,” he added.
