Rajasthan Government To Provide 70 Liters Free Water To Residents Of Desert District

Mumbai: In a recent development, the Rajasthan government has approved a proposal to provide 70 liters of water for free to residents of the 13 desert districts of the state.

According to a statement from the Rajasthan government, the Chief Minister of the state, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, has approved the proposal of the Finance Department to amend the water tariff to provide relief to the people of the state.

Earlier, the government had approved providing 40 liters of free water to all individuals in the rural areas of the state, but the latest decision was taken in view of the additional requirement of 30 liters for livestock residents in the countryside.

Earlier last month, a train carrying water was sent from Jodhpur railway station to the drought-hit district to overcome the acute water shortage in Pali, Rajasthan.
