Section 144 Imposed In J&K And Ladakh’s Kargil

Mumbai: Section 144 imposed in Ladakh’s Kargil, Drass and Sankoo towns. This comes after Indian government scrapped Article 370 which provides special status to J&K.

The district magistrate of Kargil said in a release after imposing a ban under section 144 that any assembly of four or more people would attract punitive action. The release said that the ban came into force at 5 am on Thursday and will continue till further notice.

The government also ordered educational institutions to remain closed.

Meanwhile, curfew has been relaxed in parts of Jammu and Kashmir. In some parts of Ramban district, there was a relaxation of six hours after continuous curfew for three days. It did not include the subdivisions of Banihal and Ramsu.

On the other hand curfew has been removed from some parts of J&K.

Ramban District Magistrate ZA Khan said the curfew restrictions have been relaxed from 10 AM to 4 pm from all towns and markets in Ramban district except in Banihal and Ramsu subdivisions and if peace prevails, the relaxation will be relaxed further.

Notably, earlier in day Pakistan has suspended Samjhauta Express service, following also suspended trade affairs.
