Self Styled Godman Rampal Sentenced Life Time Imprisonment

Mumbai : Godman Rampal has been sentenced life imprisonment on Tuesday in a murder case. The case is connected with the muder of five people in 2014,  Rampal will stay in prison until the end of his life said court while pronouncing the punishment.

In 2014 four women and the child died near Rampal’s Satlok Ashram in Haryana, the incident took place during the clashes between Rampal’s supporters and police.  On 11th of October a local court in Chandigarh had convicted them under Sections 302 (murder), 343 (wrongful confinement) and 120 B (conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code

Rampal has also convicted for death of a women in 2006 were he was charged under the section 302 (murder) and section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code.

Police arrested Rampal on 19th of November 2014 and evacuated 20,000 other from the ashram. Nearly six FIRs was filed against Rampal and his supporters after the incident. FIR was filed at Barwala police station, were Rampal was accused for deaths and said the victims were “made hostage in Satlok Ashram”, and died as food and other facilities, including medicine, were not provided to them in time.

In 2014 the ashram was closed as the violence took place Two others, located in Delhi’s Mundka area and Bhiwani, are still operational.

Prior to this Kabir Panth he has worked as an Engineerin Haryana irrigation department. Later on he founded Satlok Ashram in Haryana’s Rohtak and rose to become one of the most prominent leaders of Kabir Panth sect.
