Sonia Gandhi Elected As Leader Of Congress Parliamentary Party

Mumbai: In the meeting of party MPs at the Central Hall of Parliament on Saturday, Sonia Gandhi was once again elected the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP).

In the meeting, 52 newly elected Lok Sabha MPs and Rajya Sabha members were present.

“Smt. Sonia Gandhi elected as the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party! She says, ‘we thank the 12.13 Cr voters for reposing faith in the Congress Party’,” Congress’s chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala tweeted.

Gandhi, who represents Rae Bareli of Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha, is the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson.

He said that MPs will also elect Congress leader in the Lok Sabha and chalk party’s strategy for the upcoming session of Parliament.
