Sushma Swaraj For Trajectory Visit For 2 Days To Maldives

Mumbai: External affair minister of India, Sushma Swaraj met Imran Abdulla, Home Minister of Maldives. They discuss the development of both countries by the bilateral way.

Swaraj is on her two-day visit to the Maldives. Its the first bilateral trip from India after Ibrahim Mohamed Solih became President and came to power.

On the first day of her visit, she had talked with Maldivian counterpart Abdulla Shahid.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted saying, ‘Close bonds of friendship, The good meeting between EAM Sushma Swaraj and Maldives Minister of Home Affairs Shimran Ab on the second day of her visit to the Maldives. Discussed steps to continue the upward trajectory in our bilateral relationship’.

A number of seniors leaders and Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale are with Swaraj on her Maldive trip.

They said PM Narendra Modi had visited Maldive for swearing Ceremony of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih after he came to power in November last year. After it, this is the first trajectory meeting with the Maldives.

The official twitter account of Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Maldives tweeted saying, ‘Exchanging views on ongoing and future collaboration. Minister Sushma Swaraj and Minister Shahid hold bilateral talks, and agree on a broad spectrum of issues for further collaboration, including development cooperation, and enhancing people-to-people contact’.
