Taliban Gained ‘Fair Amount’ Of US Defence Equipment: White House
Mumbai: The White House said on Tuesday that the Taliban had amassed a significant amount of US military equipment after seizing control of Afghanistan.
Pictures and videos show the Taliban with firearms and vehicles that Pentagon troops used or provided to Afghan national security forces, as well as advanced UH-60 Black Hawk attack helicopters and other equipment at Kandahar airport.

“Obviously, we don’t have a complete picture of where every piece of defence material went. But certainly, a lot has gone into the hands of the Taliban,” White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said.
“Obviously, we don’t get the sense that they would simply hand it over to us,” he said.
Sullivan said losing control of millions of dollars of military supplies to the enemy “is an example of the difficult choices facing the president in the context of the end of the 20-year war.”
He said the Black Hawks were supplied to Afghan government forces to help fight the Taliban insurgency.
But government forces soon succumbed to the Islamic insurgents, giving up control of their large stockpile of weapons and their helicopters.
