Telangana Govt Announces End Of COVID-19 Lockdown From Tomorrow The CMO said that this decision has been taken after reviewing the report of the medical officers.

Telangana: The Telangana government on Saturday announced that the COVID-19 lockdown in the state will be lifted completely from Sunday onwards

The decision was taken in view of a dip in COVID-19 cases and positivity rate, state CMO said.

“The state cabinet has decided to lift the lockdown completely. The number of coronavirus cases and the positivity rate in the state has dropped significantly and the coronavirus situation has come under complete control,” the Chief minister’s office said.

The CMO said that this decision has been taken after reviewing the report of the medical officers.

The cabinet also directed the officers of all departments to completely abolish all the rules imposed during the lockdown.

With the COVID-19 situation in the country steadily improving, several states had imposed lockdowns since mid-April in view of the second wave of the pandemic are easing curbs in a graded manner, while continuing with restrictions like night curfew and the closure of schools and colleges.

Telangana on Friday reported 1,417 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 6,10,834, while the toll rose to 3,546 with 12 more fatalities. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 149, followed by Rangareddy (104) and Khammam (93) districts, a state government bulletin said, providing details as of 5.30 PM on Friday.

The number of recoveries outnumbered fresh cases with 1,897 people recovering from the virus, taking the cumulative number to 5,88,259. The number of active cases was 19,029, the bulletin said.
