Their Temperaments Are Quite Similar, Bond Will Be Good: Gavaskar On Dravid – Rohit

India Vs New Zealand three-match T20 series is the first assignment for head coach Rahul Dravid and full-time skipper Rohit Sharma

Mumbai: As the new era of Indian cricket begins with today’s clash between India and New Zealand, Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar feels that head coach Rahul Dravid and T201 captain Rohit Sharma will get along well because their “temperaments are quite similar.

Gavaskar on the Star Sports show Follow The Blues, said, “If you look at both of their temperaments, they are quite similar. Rohit is of a quiet nature just like Rahul Dravid. So I think their bond will be quite good because both of them will understand each other well.”

“When he used to play we used to think that till Rahul Dravid is at the crease, the Indian batting is safe and strong. This is the reason why I believe that the new responsibility of head coach that falls upon him, he will be able to handle it in a similar way,” he added.

Another former India opener Gautam Gambhir is sure that Dravid will become a very successful coach as his work ethics were unbelievable and hard-working.

“He was a very successful player then he became a very successful captain and I’m sure he is going to become a very successful as well. With him in that dressing room, I think he brings a lot of assurance, he’s played more than 100 Test matches,” said Gambhir

“He’s captained the side, his work ethics were unbelievable, really hard working. So, I think he brings a lot on the table,” he added.

India and New Zealand will be squaring off in a three-match T201 series, beginning Wednesday in Jaipur.

This is the first assignment, for now, head coach of Men in Blue Rahul Dravid and full-time T20 skipper Rohit.
