There Is No Alternative To TMC In West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee
Mumbai: Addressing a meeting of TMC Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe leaders, West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee said that there is no alternative to TMC in the state.
Banerjee said, “TMC cannot take our place because the most people-friendly government has been provided in the world. Claiming that the BJP has destroyed ‘Sonar Bharat’ (golden India) and is now talking of making ‘Sonar Bangla’, the TMC supremo said, the saffron party is indulging in false propaganda using social media.”

“We did everything to provide relief to the people affected by the cyclone, but faced criticism for one or two gaffes,” the chief minister said.
Opposition parties including the BJP, Congress and the Left Front have been vocal in alleging that the relief amount was misused by TMC leaders and activists for the cyclone-affected Amfan.
Accusing the BJP of “selling” the country, Banerjee said, the saffron party should look in the mirror before keeping an eye on West Bengal, where assembly elections are to be held in April-May.
It also demanded that the central government should repeal the Citizenship Amendment Act, stating that its existence is a “constant threat” to the citizens of the country.
