Tiger-Hrithik Starrer ‘War’ Enters Rs 200 Crore Club

Mumbai: Hrithik-Tiger starrer WAR is unstoppable as it has crossed the Rs 200 crore-mark at the box office in its first week, the makers announced on Thursday.

Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films, the film opened nationwide on 2 October.
Hrithik said that he is very happy and liked all the records that the film has made so far.

“We wanted to make a film that raises the bar of action films in India and can truly compete with the best action spectacles being produced in the West. We are all happy that ‘War’ has done just that And she is getting incredible love. Appreciation from audiences around the world.

Tiger said he was overwhelmed by the film’s response, his first film being Rs 200 crore.

“It is an absolute blessing that our film has been widely accepted and it is definitely going to be a special forever as I got to do it with my protagonist, my idol Hrithik Roshan, who I would be I aspire and I am inspired by them.
Tiger said, “This is also my first time to work with Yash Raj Films Production, Adi Chopra and Ball, working with my production house. I am delighted to have my first 200 such amazing teams.”

The action entertainer also stars Vaani Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana.

WAR was theatrically released in India in 4DX on 2 October 2019, the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, with praise for the performances of Roshan and Shroff, but criticism for its predictable storyline. War set the record for the highest opening day collection for a Bollywood film in India.
