Mumbai: Delhi police recently arrested a Tik Tok user with over 40,000 followers along with his three colleagues, in connection with robbery cases in Greater Noida city of Gautam Buddh Nagar district.
Police said the arrest took place on Wednesday morning from the Alpha II area of Greater Noida.
Police also recovered five mobiles, a bike and Rs 3,520 cash from his possession.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ranvijay Singh said, “Leader of the gang, Shah Rukh is quite popular on his social media video-sharing app Tikkok for his dance moves and has more than 40,000 followers.”
Police installed cameras at several places in Greater Noida and nearby areas after several robbery incidents.
With the help of CCTV footage, the police found that the passengers’ phones and cash were looted – four accused named Shah Rukh, Asif, Faizan and Mukesh.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in at least six cases of robbery in Gautam Buddh Nagar district and the police came to know that they were active in the area for a year.
The SP said that the main concentrated areas of all the accused are Balta 2, Knowledge Park and Surjapur.
While Mukesh hails from Bihar, the other three were natives of Bulandshahr.
A case has been registered and further investigation into the matter is underway.
