Two Men Sexually Harass Lady Constable On Duty In Nandanam, Arrested

Mumbai: Another shocking incident of crime has come to light from Chennai, in which a woman police constable on duty in Nandanam was sexually assaulted by two men. As per the latest developments, both the suspects have been arrested for harassing the lady constable. Teynampet police have arrested two persons for sexually abusing a woman policeman.

The 24-year-old woman constable Pasumpon was on duty near the Nandanam signal on Muthuramaling Thevar’s birth anniversary. On his duty, the constable was pacifying the crowd when he saw the duo molesting women in the area.

During this, he asked them not to indulge in any such action. After some time he again objected to this but both the youths gave a befitting reply and sexually assaulted the lady police constable. They said that they are ready to give him Rs 5,000 in exchange for sex.

According to the report of Times of India, the lady constable got angry with this and she informed the colleagues on duty. After which a group of male accomplices dragged her from the crowd and handed her over to the Teynampet police.

In her complaint to the police, the woman constable said that both were under the influence of alcohol and had brought clothes. The police team arrested both of them and sent them to judicial custody.

After the incident, the police have registered a case against both the youths under relevant sections of the IPC. Both the accused have been identified as Vijayapandi (24) residents of Reteri and Dharmendran (40) of Surapet area.

The report further states that one of the miscreants (Vijaypandi) is already an accused in the attempt to murder and NDPS case.
