Mumbai: In a shocking incident two sailors were killed on Thursday after the fall of one of the Hangar Doors of Indian Navy Air Squadron 322 in INS Garuda, Kochi. The Board of Inquiry has been ordered for the cause of the accident.
Both from Aviation Electrical branch Naveen, EAA 3 and Ajit Singh, EAR3 – both were passing when the sliding door turned down from its supporting rails above and fell on them at around 9 o’clock. A defense statement said that injured personnel were taken to Naval Hospital INHS Sanjivani where they broke their breath at 9:40 in the morning.
“Two Navy personnel died of casualties caused due to an aircraft hangar collapse,” a spokesperson told news agency PTI.
Naveenn was from the Bhiwani district of Haryana and joined the Navy in 2008. Whereas Ajeet Singh belongs to Rajasthan Bharatpur and he had joined the force on 2009.
