Uddhav Thackeray Slams Governor For Not Providing Sufficient Time To For Government

Mumbai: After President’s Rule imposed in Maharashtra State, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray slammed governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari for not providing sufficient time to their party to decide on the government formation in the state.

“BJP was invited by the Governor but they refused to form govt in the state. The next day we were given the invitation (by Governor), we were given only 24 hours time but we required 48 hours. But he (Maharashtra) didn’t give us 48 hours time,” he said while addressing press here.

Meanwhile speaking about Arvind Sawant resignation from Modi cabinet he said that we are proud of him, many people have a lust for minister post but he isn’t like.

“BJP-Shiv Sena were together for many yrs but now Shiv Sena has to go with Congress-NCP. We’ll hold further talks with both of them. I would like to thank Arvind Sawant, many people have a lust for the ministerial post but he isn’t like that. Proud of him,” he said.

On the Bharatiya Janata Party’s refusal to form a new government in the state with the Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray said, “I did not eliminate the BJP’s option, it was the BJP that did it.”

President’s rule was imposed in the state after the political party failed to form the government even 20 days after the results of the assembly elections were declared last month. In addition, President Kovind accepted the recommendation and signed notification to implement the central rule in Maharashtra.
