Ukraine Seeks PM Modi’s Help In War With Russia, Cites ‘Mahabharata’

Addressing the media, Polikha referred to the Mahabharata and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pursue diplomacy with Russian President Vladimir Putin and help Ukraine in this hour of crisis. Also Read: The World Will Hold Russia Accountable For Attack On Ukraine: US

Ukraine’s Ambassador to India Dr Igor Polikha said: “There were some attacks on the outskirts of the capital. Some attacks have taken place on the territory of Ukraine. Emphasizing the importance of India’s intervention at this point, he said: “India had qualified in diplomacy several thousand years ago through Kautilya, Chanakya when there was no civilization in Europe. The Ukrainian diplomat said, “At present, we are requesting India for political help. Modi Ji is one of the most powerful leaders in the world who has a special partnership with Russia.” Also Read: Russia Has Launched Full-Scale Invasion Of Ukraine, Declared War On Record: Ukraine

Polikha said, “I don’t know how many world leaders Putin will pay attention to, but because of Modiji’s ties, I hope the Russian President will at least consider his point of view. We are expecting a more favourable attitude from the Indian government.”

To strengthen his appeal, Polikha pointed out that “Putin has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This is a war of aggression and Ukraine will defend itself and win. Now is the time to act.”

He said that even though Russia is claiming that it has attacked only military facilities, Ukraine has also suffered civilian casualties. However, there is information that Russian troops are crossing the border.

Reports suggest that Russia has already launched a special military operation on Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region and its forces have entered into Ukrainian territory.

An Indian student who has spoken to All India Radio about the current emergency situation in Ukraine informed that they have been advised to take shelter in bunkers.
