Undemocratic, Unethical: Mamata On Eknath Shinde Govt In Maharashtra

Mumbai: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee criticised the newly formed Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government and called it “undemocratic” and “unethical”.

Asking Union Home Minister Amit Shah that like Maharashtra they (BJP) will also come to power in Bengal and other states, Mamata said the people of the country will oust the BJP democratically.

“The present government of Maharashtra is undemocratic and illegal. This government will also not run for long. The BJP uses money power and muscle power along with agencies to go against electoral mandates of different states,” said Mamata.

“2024 election will be between people and BJP. People will democratically oust BJP as people are the last word in democracy. Apart from money, BJP had provided several other things to the miffed Maharashtra MLAs in Assam to convince them,” further mentioned the Chief Minister

The chief minister also said that she had been a member of several central ministries under several governments and also alleged that she had never seen an ‘undemocratic’ central government like the present BJP government.

In the past two days, the BJP national executive in Hyderabad questioned the alleged violence by the TMC in Bengal and the misbehaviour of the Banerjee family.

Taking a jibe at the saffron camp, Mamata said it is through the power that a person is placed at the top position in the Board of Control for Cricket.

“When Indira Gandhi was arrested, my brothers and sisters protested with me but the Congress did not. My entire family is at the party but they don’t have posts. Abhishek Banerjee is an elected representative and youth should be given a chance as they are the future,” said Mamata.

Interacting in the media conclave, the Bengal Chief Minister also spoke about several projects which are in the pipeline of her government and also about the developmental schemes started by the TMC government which also brought down the unemployment rate in the state even in trying times.
