Under Yogi’s Leadership, BJP Will Secure 300 Plus Seats In UP: Shah

Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath’s leadership will lead BJP to win over 300 seats in the state’s Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday.

Addressing BJP supporters in Gorakhpur ahead of Adityanath’s nomination process, the former BJP chief said, “We are going to repeat history in UP. In 2014, 2017 and 2019 elections, the people of UP chose development under the leadership of the Absolute majority of PM Modi. With CM Yogi filing nomination today, BJP is moving ahead with the resolve of ‘300 paar’ (more than 300).”

He further said, ‘In 2013, when I was made in-charge of BJP (of UP), journalists used to say that I was being sent to a place where the party might not even touch double digits in the elections. The opposition was… which didn’t touch double digits.”

He highlighted the social welfare schemes of the Modi government like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat and the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, which helped the people of UP a lot.

Shah further said that the Adityanath-led government in the state ensured that all welfare schemes reach the needy on time.

“Yogi did the work of laying the foundation of good governance here for two years, in view of which in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, all the opposition parties gathered and formed a grand alliance. I had said in the Bhubaneswar Executive Committee that those who are left should also come together and do it, we will once again form the government with a two-thirds majority. 65 seats again came under the leadership of Modi,” he said.

Shah said that the people of Uttar Pradesh had given us a majority in the 2017 assembly elections with more than 300 seats.

Shah said, “PM Modi is representing Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha as well. PM Modi always says that unless Uttar Pradesh is developed, the country’s development is impossible. PM Modi has always been engaged for the upliftment of poor, backward, Dalit and tribal,” Shah said.

Shah also hit out at Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, saying that ‘goonda raj’ has caught the Yogi regime in its grip.

“Mafia is now visible only in 3 places in UP- either in jail or outside UP or appears in SP candidate list for UP elections 2022. Mafia used to rule UP, Police was scared of them. Today, the mafia walks up to the Police station to surrender,” he added.
