UP CM Yogi Adityanath Receives Death Threat On Twitter, Manhunt On

Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has received a death threat on Twitter. The police have claimed that the social media post contained abusive language against the CM.

On Saturday evening, the cyber-crime police station’s monitoring unit, which keeps a watch on social media posts involving political personalities, the government, and ministries, lodged a case and began an investigation.

Based to the FIR, policeman Rajesh Tiwari found a tweet that used derogatory language against the Chief Minister and threatened him with death.

“A Twitter post from the handle of advocate Kalpna Srivastava said that a user (khalid qureshi@rock Qureshi) made unsavory remarks against the CM and threatened to kill him.

“The woman advocate also stated that the user had also deleted some of him abusive posts,” Tiwari said.

“An FIR has been registered under sections 504 (intentional insult), 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 505 (circulating statements in public causing alarm) of the IPC, and Section 66 of the IT Act,” said Mohammed Muslim Khan, SHO, Cyber Cell.

Further investigation is currently being conducted.
