Mumbai: A 22-year-old minor has been arrested here for kidnapping and raping. The police gave this information on Saturday.
He said that the accused and the victim belong to different communities and belong to the same village.
The 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted on October 20, they said.
Police station in-charge (SHO) Sunil Chandra Tiwari said that on October 25, a case of kidnapping was registered against him at Phephna police station on the complaint of his father.
He said the girl was rescued and the accused was arrested on Friday.
The victim told the police that the accused took her to Maharashtra and raped her.
Based on his statement, the man has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
The victim has been sent to district hospital for medical examination, police said.
