UP Man Strangles Wife With Saree For Chatting On Phone For Long Hours

Mumbai: A man allegedly strangled his wife with a saree and later surrendered at the local police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao. The man told police that he killed his wife as he was upset over her prolonged use of the mobile phone.

The crime took place in the Ahmadpur Vade village under the Hasanganj Kotwali police station of Unnao district. The couple had been living there for the past few years with their six-year-old son.

The man told the police that he had strangled his wife for a long time due to the use of the mobile phone.

A senior police officer said, “His wife used to chat with someone on mobile phone for hours. Whenever he tried to check her, he would fight with her. On Monday, she had picked up a fight with him after which he strangled her.”

Police have arrested the accused Arun by registering a case of murder against him. Arun was married to Aarti about eight years ago. He used to work as a tailor in a shop near his house.

The body has been sent to the district hospital for autopsy.
