WATCH: PM Narendra Modi Hugged And Consoled ISRO Chief K Sivan After He(Sivan) Broke Down

Mumbai: it was a heartbreaking moment for all Indians here as ISRO lost their communication with Vikram Lander just moments before its scheduled landing on Saturday. All hopes are not lost yet and Isro has said it is analysing data gathered so far.

The stress on the faces of scientists at ISRO was understandable after the control centre lost contact with Vikram. Years of hard work by hundreds of scientists had gone into preparation for this ambitious moon mission, which would make India the fourth country to soften a module on the lunar surface.

Meanwhile, ISRO Chief K Sivan breakdown as PM Narendra Modi hugged and consoled him. PM said that our resolve to touch the moon has become even stronger, we have come very close, but we need to cover more grounds, concluded.

Earlier PM Modi addressed nation and ISRO centre where he said that “India is with you. The lessons learned from today will make us stronger.”

“There is a significant journey and effort as a final result. I can proudly say that the effort was worth it and that the journey was what it was. Our team worked hard, travelled far and those sermons would always be with us. From today onwards The lessons learned will make us stronger and better ”, said PM

“Vikram Lander descent was as planned and normal performance was observed up to an altitude of 2.1 km. Subsequently, communication from the lander to ground stations was lost,” Isro chief K Sivan said, adding that the data is being analysed.
