WB BJP Worker’s Body Found Hanging In Abandoned Building Ahead Of Shah’s Visit

Mumbai: A West Bengal BJP worker’s body was found hanging in an abandoned building near his home ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Kolkata.

After meeting the family of the deceased, Shah demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident and said that the Union Home Ministry has taken cognizance of the matter and sought a report from the West Bengal government.

“Yesterday the TMC government completed one year of its tenure. The process of political killings has started in the state today. BJP condemned the killing of Arjun Chowrasia. I met the victim’s family, his grandmother was also beaten up. BJP demands a CBI inquiry into the incident,” Shah said.

A BJP worker was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kolkata’s Kashipur area this morning, hours ahead of Amit Shah’s two-day visit to the TMC-ruled state. The Union Home Minister will visit the residence of the deceased this afternoon.

The body of BJP Yuva Morcha worker Arjun Chowrasia was found hanging inside a deserted building in north Kolkata’s Ghosh Bagan area of Kashmir, police said.

The BJP has alleged that he was murdered by the ruling TMC, which has denied the charge.

“Arjun Chowrasia, 27, BJYM Mondal Vice-President, North Kolkata was brutally slaughtered and hanged. This continuous slaying of opponent political workers highlights the demise of democracy in West Bengal. 57 BJP workers were massacred in the last year. Humanity is smothered by the TMC!” – the BJP’s Bengal unit said in a tweet.
