WB Governor Slams Mamata Of Hiding Actual Figures: Says ‘Give COVID-19 Data Cover-up Operation’

Mumbai: Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar accused Mamata government on Saturday that the state is hiding actual figures of COVID-19 infected.

“Give up ‘COVID-19 data cover-up operation’ @MamataOfficial and share it transparently,” Dhankhar tweeted today.

Dhankhar tweeted images of a letter written by Health department principal secretary Vivek Kumar to the centre on 30 April which contained a district-wise number of COVID-19 cases.

In the images, the number of COVID-19 cases stands at 931, while the bulletin released on 30th April says that the number of ‘active cases’ is 572.

Governor questioned the state that why bulletin of 1st May was not released. And the gap between 931 and 572 is not reconcilable.

“Gap between 572 and 931 not reconcilable even if recovered/dead considered. Coordination lack awful when people r (are) suffering untold miseries. For the way forward @MamataOfficial withdraw ‘political parties r vultures in wait of dead bodies’ and take all on board,” he tweeted.

TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee alleged that the governor has turned Raj Bhawan into a party office of BJP and the only agenda of the governor is to attack the state.

West Bengal is the only state in the country where the Inter-State Ministerial Team (IMCT) faced problems assessing the pandemic.
