Pakistan Crosses The Mark of 18000 COVID-19 Infections; Records Highest Single-Day Spike

Mumbai: With 1297 new infections of COVID-19, Pakistan recorded its highest single-day increase in coronavirus cases. Officials said on Saturday, there are total 18,114 Coronavirus cases in Pakistan.

Ministry of National Health Services of Pakistan said that the increase in cases is not surprising as there is an increase in COVID-19 testing.

A total number of 193,859 COVID-19 tests have carried out so far including 9,164 in the last 24 hours.

Death toll in Pakistan due to the fatal virus raised up to 417, with 32 deaths within the last 24 hours, said the officials.

Of total 18,114 cases, Punjab registered the highest number of 6,733, followed by Sindh at 6,675, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 2799, Balochistan 1136, Gilgit-Baltistan 340 and PoK at 66.

While Prime Minister Imran Khan wished his Russian Counterpart Mikhail Mishustin a speedy recovery as he was tested positive for COVID-19.

“Wishing PM of Russia Mikhail Mishustin a speedy recovery and good health. Coronavirus is a common challenge and we stand together with our Russian friends in battling this challenge,” he tweeted.
