We’re Not Getting Good Starts, That’s Where We’re Lacking: Ravindra Jadeja

Mumbai: After CSK suffered their sixth defeat in eight games in IPL 2022, captain Ravindra Jadeja said they’re lacking in getting good starts in the first six overs of the games

CSK fell to their 6th loss of the season on Monday as Punjab Kings (PBKS) returned to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with an 11-run victory over defending champions at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Chasing a target of 188 runs, CSK lost the wicket of Robin Uthappa early when opener Sandeep Sharma was dismissed. Ruturaj Gaikwad hit two boundaries before Arshdeep Singh dropped Mitchell Santner’s stumps as CSK were 32-2 at the end of the powerplay.

CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja after the match said: “We started off very well, we felt we gave away 10-15 runs extra at the end. We did not execute our plans very well. He [Rayudu] was batting brilliantly, throughout but as I said earlier if we could’ve restricted them to under 175 it would’ve been good.”

“We are not getting good starts in the first 6 overs, that’s where we are lacking and hopefully we will come back stronger,” the star all-rounder added.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) made a comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with an 11-run win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Shikhar Dhawan scored an unbeaten 88*(59) with the bat in his 200th IPL match before PBKS won another last over by 11 runs.
