West Bengal Has Become Home To Illegal Bomb-Making: Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar

Mumbai: West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar says that the state has become “home to illegal bomb-making.”

“State has become home to illegal bomb-making that has the potential to unsettle democracy. Police @MamataOfficial busy in carrying out political errands and taking on the opposition. Those at helm @WBPolice cannot escape their accountability for this alarming decline in law and order,” Mr. Dhankhar tweeted.

“How far distanced is DGP @WBPolice from reality is the cause of worry and added that his ‘Ostrich Stance’ is very disturbing,” he asked in another tweet.

The Governor’s statement comes after the NIA foiled terrorist group al-Qaeda’s attempt to establish a base in India by arresting nine terrorists from Kerala and West Bengal.

In the early hours of Saturday, raids were conducted at several places in Murshidabad in West Bengal and Ernakulam in Kerala.

The closely monitored action by the NIA and other central agencies began on 11 September when the Premier Investigation Agency filed a case to investigate the al-Qaeda module.
