What Are The Major Announcements Made In Uttar Pradesh Budget 2022-23?

Mumbai: Presenting Uttar Pradesh Budget 2022-23, state Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said the target is to make UP’s economy $1 trillion in size. This is the first budget in the second innings of the UP government.

The Adityanath government had presented a budget of Rs 5,50,270.78 crore for the financial year 2021-22.

Uttar Pradesh finance minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said, “The economy of the state is improving rapidly. We believe that we will be successful in taking the state’s economy to USD 1 trillion.”

The state presented an annual budget of Rs 5.50 lakh crore in 2021-2022. Its size increased to ₹5.66 lakh crore with the presentation of the supplementary budget. The interim budget for 2022-23 was indicated to be over ₹6 lakh crore.

Here are the major announcements made by the Yogi government in UP Budget 2022-23:

  • For those children who have lost their parents due to Covid-19, the UP government has started the UP CM Bal Seva Yojana to support their education and protection. Under this, Rs 2,500 per month is being given to such children.
  • The target of provide four lakh Jobs in the next 5 years.
  • Two crore smartphones/ tablets are to be distributed in the next 5 years in UP.
  • Rs 560 crore was allocated for Ayushman Cards. Rs 250 crore was allocated for Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
  • Rs 523.34 crore was allocated for the protection of women in the state.
  • The target of the state is to hit a $1 Trillion GDP size, in line with the $5 Trillion targets of the central government.
  • Rs 2,100 crore was earmarked for medical colleges in 14 districts.
  • Rs 897 crore was allocated for PM Gati Shakti Yojana.
  • Rs 1,000 per month allowance for the disabled. Earlier, this allowance was Rs 300 per month.
  • The target of establish 100 incubators and 10,000 startups in the state.
  • Rs 600 crore was allocated for samuhik vivah(community weddings).
  • Rs 100 crore was allocated for Kumbh Mela.
  • Rs 18,500 crore was allocated for road construction.
