Which States Have The Highest Active COVID-19 Cases As India Reports Jump In Cases?

Mumbai: With India reporting 2,067 new COVID-19 cases, the data released by the Health Ministry showed that there are 12,340 active coronavirus cases in India.

According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday, 40 fresh deaths were recorded in the country, including 34 from Kerala, three from Maharashtra and one each from Uttar Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland.

With this, the total number of COVID positive cases in the country rose to 4,30,47,594, while the death toll rose to 5,22,006. The national COVID-19 recovery rate stood at 98.76 per cent with 1,547 people being cured in a 24-hour period.

In terms of active COVID-19 cases in the country, Kerala has the highest number of active coronavirus cases at 2,432, while Delhi is at the second and third positions with 1,947 and Karnataka with 1,529.

Assam has 1,351 Covid active cases and Haryana has 1,125. According to the Union Health Ministry, it is followed by Uttar Pradesh with 798 cases, Maharashtra with 660 cases, Mizoram with 585 cases, Uttarakhand with 398 cases, West Bengal with 272 cases and Tamil Nadu with 235 cases.

Similarly at present, Telangana has 187 Covid active cases while Odisha has 156 cases and Rajasthan has 113 active cases.

The Union ministry on Wednesday revealed that the number of people who have recovered from the disease rose to 4,25,13,248, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.21 per cent.

According to the data released by the health minister, the daily positivity rate was 0.49 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.38 per cent.

Active cases currently stand at 12,340, 480 active cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, and comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, the health ministry added to the figures.
