Will Not Implement Any COVID19 Lockdown In Bengaluru: BS Yediyurappa

Mumbai: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday clarified that the state government will not implement another COVID-19 lockdown in Bengaluru as it has already sealed some areas.

The Chief Minister reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the city with Bengaluru MLAs and ministers this morning.

“Today, I have called a meeting with Bengaluru MLAs and ministers on the rise in COVID cases in the city. Every MLA and minister has to work for the prevention of the disease in this constituency. There is no question of lockdown. Some areas have already been sealed, ”Yeddyurappa told media reporters.

The day after the meeting, Yediyurappa asked citizens whether they would not like another lockout or seal in the capital to follow the safety norms imposed for the control of coronavirus.

A total of 1,678 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the city as of Wednesday. This includes 78 deaths and 475 discharges.

The number of Covid-19 cases in the state which stood at 3,408 as of June 1 has crossed the 10,000 mark on Wednesday with the capital city topping the districts in the infection count.
