Will Support The Party Which Respects Our Policies: Dushyant Chautala,

Mumbai: Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala, who emerged as a kingmaker in Haryana after winning 10 seats in the state, said the JJP would support a party that respected its policies.

At a press conference on Friday, Dushyant Chautala said, “In the Legislature Party meeting today, a resolution was passed that I am the leader of the Legislature Party.”

He also said, “We, along with the ally, will have political parties agree to our common minimum program. JJP will support a party that respects our policies.”

Dushyant Chautala further said that neither BJP nor Congress was untouchable for his party.

“Neither BJP or Congress is untouchable for us,” he said.

The Haryana assembly election decision gave the Congress a fractured mandate in which 31 of the 90 seats were at stake and the BJP gained 40 seats. The halfway mark is 46.

Dushyant Chautala said, “All options are open if anyone is willing to accept the common minimum agenda of our party for the development of the state.”

He will also meet his father Ajay Chautala, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, before making a final decision on the future course of action.

Earlier in the day, Chautala had commented on the trends available at the time, stating, “This shows that there was a huge anti-incumbency wave against the (Manohar Lal) Khattar government.”

With 31 seats, the Congress will need the support of both the JJP as well as seven Independents to come to power.
