Mumbai: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that she would ask all the students to continue their democratic protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

Speaking at a public rally here, Mamta said, “I will ask all the students to continue their protest in a democratic manner, for their democratic rights.” Banerjee also took out a protest march with a huge gathering from Rajabazar to Mallick Baazar here against the CAA and NRC.

Speaking at a protest rally in the city, the Trinamool Congress supremo accused the BJP of not keeping its promises, and referred to the remarks of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, in which the families of two people killed in police firing on anti-CAA protesters There was talk of giving compensation to In Mangaluru.

The Karnataka CM told reporters on Wednesday that if the government proved the involvement of two persons in the violence during the protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act on December 19, their families would not be given a single rupee.

The Chief Minister of West Bengal asked the students to go ahead with their protest. She also told him that she would always be by his side. Banerjee said, “Nobody is afraid. I warn the BJP not to play with fire.”
