With 51 New COVID19 Cases, Odisha Tally Reaches 1,103

Mumbai: Official sources said Odisha reported the seventh COVID-19 fatal on Thursday, while 51 new coronavirus cases were detected, taking the total number to 1,103.

The deceased had recently returned from Surat.

An 85-year-old man from Ganjam district died on Wednesday. He said he was suffering from high blood pressure, the Department of Health and Family Welfare said.

Of the seven COVID fatalities, three each come from Ganjam and Khurda districts, while one from Cuttack also succumbed to a highly contagious disease.

New 51 cases were reported from 11 different districts. While 5 in Kalahandi and Nayagarh districts, 5 in Cuttack, 5 in Jajpur, 4 in Ganjam, 3 in Mayurbhanj, 3 in Mayurbhanj, 2 in Angul and Jagatsinghpur, one in Sambalpur, Malkangiri and Puri districts were recorded.

Out of 51 new cases, 48 ​​people tested positive for the virus in quarantine centers.

With the new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases rose to 1103, of which 753 are active and 343 others have recovered from the disease so far.
