Total Number Of Coronavirus Cases In India Rises To 694; Death Toll Reaches 16

Mumbai: India reported around 6,088 fresh cases and 148 deaths in the past 24 hours taking the toll to 1,18,447 as per the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

The total number of deaths rose to 3,583. India currently has 66,330 active cases with 48,533 patients recovered and discharged successfully.

Maharashtra continues to be the largest hit state by Covid-19 with 41,642 cases. Tamil Nadu at second with 13,967 positive cases and Gujarat with 12,905 cases.

Delhi witnessed 11,659 positive Covid-19 cases. About 26,15,920 samples have been tested so far as per the ICMR on Thursday.

India is currently in the fourth phase of nationwide lockdown and the curve is at its peak. The Home Ministry on Thursday pointed poor follow up of lockdown 4 guidelines.

Global statistics have surged to over 5 million cases and 3,25,810 fatalities. India stands at 11th most affected countries worldwide.
