15 Independent MLAs Ready To Join BJP: Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai: Maharashtra Assembly Election results declared a few hours ago showed BJP with its ally Shiv Sena had to retain power in Maharashtra.

Soon after results declared, CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis addressed a press conference here in Mumbai at BJP head office where he thanked people for electing them back and also informed that around 15 independent MLAs are ready to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and most of them are BJP and Shiv Sena rebels.

Fadnavis said, “15 independent MLAs have contacted me and they are ready to come with us. Others may come but these 15 will definitely come with us. Most of them are rebels of BJP or Shiv Sena.”

Well, he was not much impressed with bypoll results for Satara Lok Sabha constituency and Parli Assembly constituency.

“The two results for us are shocking – the by-election for Satara Lok Sabha constituency and Parli assembly constituency. Our six ministers have lost, we will start to find out the reasons for this from tomorrow. Today is the day to celebrate our victory. We will form a strong government in Maharashtra for the next five years, ”said Fadnavis.

“It is true that this time we have won fewer seats than last time elections, but last time, BJP contested 260 seats in Maharashtra and we won 122 seats. This time we have contested 150 seats. Last time we had a strike. Fadnavis said that this time the rate was 47 percent and this time our strike rate is 70 percent.”

He also expressed his gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for the mandate.

According to what has been decided between Shiv Sena and us (BJP), we are going to move forward. The decision that has been made is something that you will know when the time is right. I want to thank the people of Maharashtra. Giving a very clear and decisive mandate, ”he said.

The BJP had contested on 150 seats while Shiv Sena had fielded its candidates in 124 constituencies in the state. On the other hand, Congress contested the polls in alliance with the NCP.
