15-Yr-Old Runaway Girl From B’luru Molested On Train In Mumbai, 1 Arrested

Mumbai: A 26-year-old man was arrested in Mumbai for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old girl from Bengaluru, who had run away from her home after fighting with her parents.

The incident happened at around 2.15 pm on Saturday. The 15-year-old girl left her home in Bangalore on Friday and reached Dadar railway station in the early hours of Saturday. She boarded the Konark Express train to go back to Bangalore. “She alleged that a person sitting in the compartment touched her leg with her. He raised an alarm and other passengers caught the accused Taheb Rehman, a native of West Bengal, who was on his way to Pune to visit his relative in search of a job.

The GRP arrested him and lodged an FIR for molestation under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

The matter was handed over to Dadar GRP as the incident took place under their jurisdiction. Rahman was produced before the Sessions Court and sent to judicial custody.
