18-Yr-Old Woman Kidnapped, Raped While Distributing Her Wedding Cards In UP

Mumbai:  An 18-year-old woman has alleged that she was kidnapped and raped by three men while she was distributing her wedding invitation cards in Uttar Pradesh.

The woman also alleged that the accused took her to the leader of a political party and later forced her to live with someone else in a village in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Monday.

In her complaint to the police, the woman has alleged that on April 18 she was abducted by three youths of the same village who were on her way to distribute the wedding cards to be held on April 21.

She has also alleged that they kept her at different places for a few days and then handed her over to a leader, who kept her in Jhansi for a few days. According to the police, the woman was sent to live with someone else against her will in a village in Datia, Madhya Pradesh.

She somehow called his father from Datia, after which she was rescued from Pathri village with the help of the police.

Tehrauli Circle Officer (CO) Anuj Singh said that on the complaint of kidnapping, raping and selling some people by the woman, a case has been registered in the relevant sections and her statement has been recorded before the magistrate.

The matter is being seriously investigated and legal action will be taken against the offenders, the CO added.
