20 Lakh People Fined For No Masks In Mumbai, Over ₹40 Crore Collected
Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday said that it has fined 20 lakh people for not wearing masks to prevent the spread of COVID19. in Mumbai and has collected over ₹40 crores from them between April 2020 and March 21, 2021.
According to the state health department, Maharashtra reported 30,535 new COVID-19 cases, 11,314 recoveries and 99 deaths in the last 24 hours.
With these new cases, the cumulative count has increased to 24,79,682, including 2,10,120 active cases and 22,14,867 recoveries.
The death toll of COVID-19 in the state was 53,399. The death rate in the state is now 2.15 per cent. 3,775 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Mumbai, the total number of coronavirus cases in the capital city being 3,7,654.
