Surat Police Lodged FIR Against Builders, Coaching Center

Mumbai: After a massive fire broke yesterday in Surat’s commercial complex, police have filed an FIR against three people builders of the complex- Harshal Vekaria and Jignesh, and Bhargav Bhutani – the owner of the coaching center, news agency ANI reported.

20 students have died in a massive fire and several were injured.

Giving the order to investigate the incident, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased children.

Talking to the media the CM said, “I am told that because of the fire in the staircase many people jumped from the fourth floor of the building to escape. There are orders for investigation. “

On Friday evening there was a fierce fire in Takshshila arcade building in Sarthana area. At the time of the incident, classes of a coaching institution were running on the top floor of the building. About 18 fire tenders reached the spot to extinguish the flames.

Giving information about the incident, Surat Police Commissioner Satish Kumar Mishra revealed that more than 50 students were present inside the building at the time of the incident and 20 students were taken out safely.

“The fourth and third-floor students jumped on the ground to save themselves from fire and smoke. Many have been rescued and sent to the hospital. Operation is in progress to control the fire.
