Mumbai: According to ANI reports, after facing huge defeat in recent Lok Sabha Election, Congress Working Committee will be meeting today to discuss the reason for parties debacle.
Despite the widespread publicity by Congress, its president Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, a seat in Uttar Pradesh – Sonia Gandhi’s Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat was lowered. Since 2004, Rahul Gandhi, who represented Amethi, lost to BJP’s Smriti Irani.
Sources also indicated that the committee is likely to discuss the complete loss of the party in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajas, then and Chhattisgarh, where it won assembly elections five months ago.
Sources said that all the members of the committee have been instructed to talk in today’s meeting, they have been instructed to open their proposal in front of the committee.
There is speculation that there is the possibility of party president Rahul Gandhi might offer his resignation who accept moral responsibility for defecation. However, Gandhi’s proposal can not be accepted and the party can confirm its belief to work under his leadership, sources said.
Meanwhile, in the states of Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, the presidents of party units have offered to resign from their post, who are yet to accept the responsibility of poor performance of the party in the upcoming elections.
