Air Hostess Lodges Police Complaint After Hacker Sends Obscene Videos And Messages From Her Email

Mumbai: A Gmail account of an air hostess from Bhayander has been hacked in January this year. She had been facing a tough time in January. The hacker has been sending obscene videos and messages to her colleagues from her account. He also shared an obscene video giving caption, ‘air hostess are involved in such acts’. After many such harassments, the woman lodged a police complaint on Friday.

The police are taking help of cyber-crime cell to track the hacker. As per the police, the victim was staying at Navghar Road area of Bhayander East. Since 2015 she was working as a flight attendant. Her five-year-old Gmail account was hacked in this January when her mobile got formatted and she was unable to login to her account using the password.

An Officer from Navghar police station said, “As per the victim, on March 29, she was informed about the obscene videos and messages that were posted from her account. On July 2, the victim received an email from her earlier account which contained an obscene video. She realized that her account was hacked when such other videos were sent to her colleagues from the account. According to the victim, all this was done by the Hacker to defame her and give her mental harassment.

The police registered a case against an unknown person under section 500 of Indian Penal Code and sections 43- damage to a computer system, 66C- Punishment for identify theft, 67- Punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form and 67A- Punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act. They are also getting details of the Internet Protocol address that was used to login into victims account.
