Karnataka: Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa on Monday announced his decision to resign from the post at a programme to commemorate the second anniversary of his government.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has announced his resignation in his farewell speech. ” I have decided to resign. I will meet the Governor after lunch: Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa at a programme to mark the celebration of 2 years of his govt, ANI tweeted.

BS Yediyurappa broke down while speaking on the two year anniversary of his government today.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, speaking on the two-year anniversary of his government today, said amid heated discussions that the BJP leadership was ready to replace him.

“When (Atal Bihari Vajpayee) was Prime Minister he asked me to be a minister at the Centre. But I said I will be in Karnataka,” said Mr Yediyurappa in a very emotional address in the Karnataka assembly.

The BJP had grown in Karnataka, the 78-year-old said, appearing to send an appeal to his leadership in Delhi.

“It has always been an agnipariksha (trial by fire) for me. These last two years it was Covid,” he said.
