Andhra CM Announces ₹2,000 Crore For Drought Relief

Mumbai: In a recent development, the Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has declared a bit 2,000 crore natural calamity fund to reduce the situation of drought in the state and deal with the shortage of drinking water.

This announcement was made on the first day of the 14-day budget session of the Legislative Assembly that began on Thursday.

Reddy and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo and former AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also negotiated, where the former accused Naidu allowed Telangana to remove 3,000 million cubic feet of water from the Godavari

The Chief Minister said that Rs. 1 crore will be given to identify 175 legislators to solve the problem of drinking water and identify them.

He said, “We had to pay a compensation of Rs.7.7 lakh to the families of those farmers who committed suicide due to crop failure and debt. YSR Raithu Bharosa Yojana (through which every farmer will be given R 12,500 a year) will be implemented from October 15 and as st 3,000 crores, the market stabilization fund will be created to check the fluctuation in the value of agricultural produce.”

Reddy said, “We will face the situation and work for the welfare of the farmers.”

The ysrcp-led government on Wednesday issued a white paper on the financial situation of the state, in which it accused the former TDP government of “mismanaging mismanagement, financial mismanagement, complete disregard for investment in human and physical capital”. As the Chief Minister, the term “pushed the state into those dark eras which were never experienced in its history”.
