Batters Letting Us Down: Rohit On Losing 3 Matches In a Row In IPL 2021

Mumbai: Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony after their defeat against RCB, MI captain Rohit Sharma said batters let them down and it’s something that’s happening consistently.

RCB asked MI to chase down 166, but MI was bundled out for 111 with pacer Harshal Patel picking a hat-trick and registering figures of 4/17.

Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony on Star Sports after the match, Rohit said that MI need to bounce back and they have done the same last season.

Thought it was a great bowling effort from our side. At one point it looked like they were scoring 180-plus. The batsmen let us down. This is something that is happening constantly (losing your way off the bat).

“I thought it was a great bowling effort from our side. At one point it looked like they were scoring 180-plus. The batsmen let us down. It’s something that is happening constantly (with the bat) lose),” Rohit.

“Have had a good chat with the batters. Those who are in need to carry on. They kept the pressure on us once a couple of wickets fell. Need to bounce back from whatever situation we’re in. We’ve done that in the past. Just not happening this season,” he added.

This is MI’s third straight defeat in IPL 2021 – a game they are yet to win since the resumption of the season in the UAE. Mumbai’s next match will be against Punjab Kings on Tuesday next week.
