Biggest 1-Day Jump In COVID-19 Deaths In India As 3,780 Die; 3.82L New Cases Reported

Mumbai: India witnessed the highest number of deaths on a single day due to the COVID-19 infection on Tuesday, as 3,780 people died due to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday recorded 3,82,315 new COVID-19 cases in the last one day, taking the country’s overall caseload to 2,06,65,148.

Yesterday 3,38,439 patients were discharged from hospitals across India, taking the total recovery to 1,69,51,731.

With Tuesday’s deaths, the accident figure has risen to 2,26,188. Currently, there are 34,87,229 active cases in the country.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 29,48,52,078 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to May 3 of which 15,41,299 samples were tested on Tuesday.
