B’luru Man Cheated Of ₹3 Lakh Under Pretext Of Getting Bar Licence

The police revealed that they also threatened the victim to file a police complaint and demanded Rs 5 lakhs

Mumbai: Five suspects in Bengaluru frauded Rs. 3 lakhs from a 60-year-old retired professor after luring him under the pretext of getting him a bar licence.

Prof Shivu, a resident of Rajajinagar D Block said that after retirement he wanted to start a business and thought of opening a bar. He approached a friend, Chandru to get a bar licence and he introduced him to Trisha, who reportedly had good contacts in the state government department.

Times of India quoted the professor saying, “Chandru assured me that Trisha will help me in getting the licence. I was regularly speaking to Trisha over the phone and asked me to keep Rs 5 lakh ready for some expenses.”

As per the complaint, Trisha informed Shivu that she had arranged one licence and asked him to meet her. When the professor went to receive a bar licence, two men took him to a house where Trisha was there. Following this, three men barged in and accused professor Shivu of having an affair with Trisha.

Professor claims duped him when suspects accused him of having an affair with Trisha. The suspects forced him to call his son-in-law, directing him to bring Rs 3 lakh near Laggere bridge.

As of now, the city police have detained Trisha and her boyfriend Muttu in connection with the case.

The complaint was filed by the professor after 26 days of the incident. The police revealed that they also threatened the victim to file a police complaint and demanded Rs 5 lakh.
