Boney Kapoor Slaps Legal Notice To ‘Sridevi Bungalow’ Maker’s

Mumbai: Priya Prakash Varrier hits the headline again, Priya who stole hearts on the Internet with her one wink is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the film Sridevi Bungalow directed by Prasanth Mambully.

The film is not yet released and it is into the controversies, a teaser of her film Sridevi Bungalow was launched recently which put the makers in trouble. In the film, Priya plays the role of a solo actress. The teaser got into the fire because of the death of an actress in a bathtub, which was similar to the death of Sridevi last year.

It was pretty sure that film might receive the controversy as there are too many parallels drawn between Sridevi’s real life and the movie Sridevi Bungalow.

The makers of the film have confirmed that they received a legal notice from Boney Kapoor and claimed that they will fight it. “We received a legal notice from Mr. Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case).”

Immediately after the film teaser was released, it was criticized for its content and to portray the death of actress Sridevi on the big screen.

Last week Priya was in Mumbai and she made a special appearance in Uri’s special screening.

Earlier there was a rumours that Priya might be considered to play a female lead role with Ranveer in Simmba. She said that he wished that this would be true but she was never offered a role.
