By 2022, Capitals Of Sikkim, Mizoram, Manipur, And Nagaland To Be On Rail Network: President

President Kovind also said that this decade is very important for the country

Mumbai: In a recent development, President Ram Nath Kovind stated that by 2022 the capitals of Sikkim, Mizoram, Manipur, and Nagaland would be on the rail network.

Kovind said while addressing the Joint Session of Parliament” Thanks to the efforts of the government, by 2022 capitals of Sikkim, Mizoram, Manipur, and Nagaland will get connected by the Rail network.”

President Kovind said, “The Central and Assam governments have recently signed a landmark agreement with Bodo organizations to end the 5-decade-old Bodo dispute.”

“Another landmark agreement between Tripura, Mizoram, the central government and the Bru community has not only resolved the decade-old problem but has ensured a safe life for thousands of the Bru community,” he said.

Talking about the performance index, President Kovind said that India has improved by 10 points in the World Economic Forum’s travel and tourism competitiveness rankings, moving from 52nd to 34th.

The President also stressed the need to keep “national interest paramount” while fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the countrymen.

He said, “Our constitution expects every member of this Parliament and this House to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the countrymen and make necessary laws for them, which will keep the national interest paramount.”

President Kovind also said that this decade is very important for the country.

“In the last five years, the government has laid the foundation to make this century India’s century. This decade is very important for Bharata,” he said.

The Union Budget will be presented on Saturday. The first phase of the session will conclude on February 11, while the second part of the session will begin from March 2 to end on April 3.
