Any Violence In Name Of Protest Makes Society, Country Weaker: President Kovind

He was addressing a joint session of Parliament to mark the beginning of the budget session

Mumbai: President Ram Nath Kovind in his joint session of Parliament to mark the beginning of the budget session said that any form of violence in the name of protest makes our society and country weak. He was addressing a joint session of Parliament to mark the beginning of the budget session.

Kovind said, “My government clearly believes that mutual discussion and debate make democracy stronger. Any kind of violence in the name of protest makes our society and country weak.”

The president’s remarks came a day after a teenager was arrested for firing a gun and firing at students demonstrating against the amended citizenship law in the Jamia region on Thursday. One student was injured in the incident. Protests are also taking place in many places in the country regarding the new law.

The Union Budget will be presented on Saturday. The first phase of the session will conclude on February 11, while the second part of the session will begin from March 2 and end on April 3.
