Ceasefire Would Mean Surrendering, Will Resign Hamas To Dustbin Of History: Netanyahu

Mumbai: Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu rejected calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, saying, “Calls for a ceasefire are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas.”

“I want to make clear Israel’s position regarding a ceasefire. Just as the United States would not agree to a ceasefire after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, or after the terrorist attack of 9/11, Israel will not agree to a cessation of hostilities with Hamas,” he said in English during a press conference for foreign media.

“After the horrific attacks of October 7, calls for a ceasefire are called for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorism, to surrender to barbarism. That will not happen,” he said.

Netanyahu spoke to the assembly, using a passage from the book of Ecclesiastes, “There is a time for peace and a time for war.”

He went on, “This is a time for war.” “A conflict for a shared future. A line now distinguishes the forces of civilization and barbarism. Now is the moment for each person to choose their position.

Netanyahu warned the foreign press representatives that Hamas was killing children in front of their parents and parents in front of their children, calling the group’s attack “the worst savagery our people have seen since the Holocaust.” They tortured Holocaust survivors, beheaded men, raped women, burnt alive individuals, and abducted infants.

In recent days, appeals for Israel to halt their war with Hamas in Gaza have grown, and on Friday, an overwhelming majority of UN members approved a resolution for a ceasefire without mentioning Hamas.
Israel will fight the forces of barbarism till triumph, Netanyahu declared, perhaps referring to the nations pressuring Israel to declare a truce. I pray and hope that all civilized nations will support us in this battle.

“Israel’s fight is your fight because if Hamas and Iran’s axis of evil win, you will be their next target,” he continued. “That’s why Israel’s victory will be your victory. But make no mistake, regardless of who stands with Israel, Israel will fight until this battle is won, and Israel will prevail.
